Select Board Form Bylaw Review Committee: Seeking Members

At their meeting of Wednesday, July 19, 2023 the Pembroke Select Board voted to form a five (5) member Subcommittee to thoroughly review the town's General Bylaws and recommend updates to these bylaws to the Select Board to bring to town meeting for approval.

Selectman Richard Flynn has been appointed as Chair of this subcommittee. The Select Board is seeking four (4) members of the general public to join him in reviewing the current bylaws, researching best practices and recommending changes to the Select Board in an effort to update the entire document. It is anticipated that the project will be lengthy and, in addition to regular meetings, may require additional time devoted to research or networking, attending public forums and Select Board meetings to provide updates when requested. Additionally, Committee members will be expected to attend Town Meeting to answer any questions that may arise regarding recommended changes asked by residents.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete a volunteer application and return it to the Town Manager's office at your earliest convenience. The Board hopes to interview and seat members by the start of fall so the work can begin. Thank you.
