Building & Inspectional Services

The Building Department is transitioning to an upgraded version of the online permitting system. All contractors will be required to register in order to pull permits as of July 8, 2024. SimpliCITY online permits will be available for all Building, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Plumbing, and Gas permits.

PLEASE NOTE: effective July 8, 2024, any paper permits submitted will be charged an additional $50 fee on top of the regular permit fee. (This fee covers the administrative cost to input your permit into the online permitting system)

If you do not have access to a computer, you may use the Building Department's public computer. There are also public computers available at the Pembroke Public Library. Our staff is available to assist you in setting up your online account in person or over the phone. 

• Building Permits - all permit applications must include supporting documents to be processed, i.e. signed contract, insurance information, plot plans, structural plans, HERS ratings, specs, framing and footing plans depending on the proposed project. If you are unsure of what is required, please contact the office. There is a 2-week turn around time for most permits (with full submittal)
• Electrical Permits - Gas Permits - Plumbing Permits - Sheet Metal Permits
• Demolition Permits (use building application and demo authorization form)
• Schedule an inspection by calling 781-293-3864 - INSPECTIONS ARE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY 
• Paying for Permit: Credit Card only for online payment - Cash or Check in the office
• Permits cannot be printed outside of the office - hard copies must be picked up in the Building Department, Town Hall, room 3.

The Building Inspector enforces the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Building Code and the Pembroke By-Laws.The Building department is also responsible for the uses and occupancy of all buildings, structures and land within the town of Pembroke.
