Planning Board

The Planning Board consists of seven members, who are elected by the town's voters and serve five-year terms.

The Planning Board's primary role is to conduct public hearings for site plan and subdivision applications, and to decide whether to approve or deny these proposed projects. The board also conducts public hearings for certain special permit applications and other types of applications, evaluates ANR (approval not required) "Form A" subdivision applications, and has some other decision-making responsibilities.

In addition, the Planning Board is heavily involved in periodic revisions and updates to the town's zoning bylaws, and helps the town plan for its future land use and development.
