Open Space Plan

After countless hours of hard work and research, the Open Space and Recreation Plan has received conditional approval from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Open Space and Recreation Plans are a tool through which a community plans for the future of its conservation and recreation resources.   OSRPs are informed by a thorough public participation process and reflect the needs of its community members. The plans are reviewed and approved by the Commonwealth to ensure that they conform to the OSRP requirements.  When a community has an approved OSRP, it becomes eligible for DCS grant programs for up to seven years.

There will be a remote community listening session on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 6pm to review the changes and improvements we have made to the plan and discuss the goals for our open space and recreation areas. If you are interested in attending please contact Melissa Joyce in the Conservation Department.

A new, edited and updated version of the plan is available to view at the link above. Check back here and follow the Town of Pembroke social media accounts for updates and information!
