Library Director. Search Reopened. Selection Committee deires a wider selection of candidates. The Board of Library Trustees of the Pembroke Public Library seeks qualified applicants for the position of LIBRARY DIRECTOR. The Director will be responsible for FY22 budget of $747,000 and a staff of 7 full time and 21 part-time employees in a community of 20,000 residents. The director plans and supervises the operation of the public library; develops Library policies, programs and procedures; and prepares and manages the budget presented to the Board of Trustees and the Town Manager and manages the Library expenditures. They are responsible for providing services to effectively meet the cultural, recreational, historical, and educational needs of the community.

The successful candidate must remain active in state and professional Library organizations. Duties will include overseeing and monitoring staffing levels; handling all personnel management; and providing appropriate staff training to remain up to date in technology usage and changes to the Library profession. This position is responsible for long range planning for Library services meeting all federal, state, and local guidelines and for acquiring, development, and implementation of grants.

Required: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school with at least 5 years progressively responsible experience in Library management. Salary: $75,335 - $96,287 in three steps, 37.5 hours/week with some nights/weekends. This posting will remain open until filled. CLOSED The Pembroke Fire Department is seeking qualified individuals for the purpose of hiring entry level full-time firefighter/paramedics. The minimum requirements are as follows: High school diploma or equivalent, valid Massachusetts driver’s license, Massachusetts paramedic certification and a Massachusetts Firefighter level II certification. Previous structural firefighting and progressive 911 paramedicine experience preferred. Consideration will be given to qualified Pembroke residents. CLOSED.Transportation Dispatcher/Coordinator, Council on Aging. Part-time, 19 hours per week, AFSCME Council 93, Local 1700. Salary: Starting $18.97/hour. Duties: This position oversees and administers the transportation program for the Council on Aging.  Work includes receiving and processing transportation requests, for both GATRA Dial-A-Ride and volunteer medical rides. Coordination and scheduling of both van drivers and volunteers; coordinates and schedules maintenance of vehicles. Requirements: A candidate for this position should have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  Experience in working with seniors is preferred. Good oral, written, customer service and organizational skills. Proficient in computer programs, including but not limited to Excel and Word. Must have the ability to interact objectively and professionally with the public and co-workers. CORI verification is required.  Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
