The Town of Pembroke seeks qualified applicants for the position of Library Director. The Director will be responsible for FY23 budget of $775,000 and a staff of 7 full time and 21 part-time employees in a community of 20,000 residents. The Director plans and supervises the operation of the public library, develops library policies, programs, and procedures, manages the library expenditures, and prepares and manages the budget presented to the Board of Trustees and the Town Manager. The Director is responsible for providing services to effectively meet the cultural, recreational, historical, and educational needs of the community. The successful candidate must remain active in state and professional library organizations. Duties will include overseeing and monitoring staffing levels, handling all personnel management, and providing appropriate staff training to remain up to date in technology usage and changes to the library profession. This position is responsible for long-range planning for library services meeting all federal, state, and local guidelines and for the acquisition, development, and implementation of grants. Required: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a public library and at least three years of progressively responsible experience in administration. The Town of Pembroke seeks qualified candidates for the role of Water Superintendent. This role will command a salary within the range of $75,000-$105,000 based upon experience. The Water Superintendent is responsible for the provision of safe, sanitary drinking water in sufficient quantities to meet the personal, commercial, and fire-fighting needs of the community within the regulatory parameters of the USEPA, MA DEP, the policy guidelines of the Board of Water Commissioners, and Town Meeting authorized budget. Excellent oral and written communications required; must have ability to interact positively and respectfully with all internal and external customers including but not limited to; town and school officials and employees, residents and businesses, various vendors, and federal and state regulatory agencies. Duties: This position oversees and administers the transportation program for the Council on Aging.  Work includes receiving and processing transportation requests, for both GATRA Dial-A-Ride and volunteer medical rides. Coordination and scheduling of both van drivers and volunteers; coordinates and schedules maintenance of vehicles.
