How do I register to vote?

Massachusetts residents who are at least 18 years old by election day may register to vote. You may register at the Town Clerk's office or pick up a voter registration form and mail it to the Clerk's office. The form is also available at the Pembroke Public Library and most post offices. There are deadlines for registration, please call the Clerk's office at (781) 293-7211 for details.

On-line voter registration is now available at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/ for residents with a valid Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles ID. Even if you don't have a valid RMV ID, you can still use the on-line system to create an application that can be printed, signed and mailed in.

All Voting by Mail: All registered voters may request to receive the ballot by mail, without reason, for all elections. For an application to vote by mail, visit here. This application must reach your local election office by 5 p.m. on the fifth business day before Election Day. Registered voters may only request an absentee ballot if they: will be absent from Pembroke during polling hours; has a physical disability, or has a religious belief that prevents the voter from coming to the polls on Election Day. Any mail-in ballot must be requested in writing by 5 p.m. on the 5th business day before the election. Your application can only be accepted if it has reached your local election office by the deadline.

In Person Absentee Ballot: You may arrange with your local election official to cast your absentee ballot in person at your local election office until 12 p.m. on the day before the election. If the day before the election is a weekend or holiday, in-person absentee voting will end at 5 p.m. on the last business day before the election. Registered voters may only request an absentee ballot if they: will be absent from Pembroke during polling hours; has a physical disability, or has a religious belief that prevents the voter from coming to the polls on Election Day. For more information call the Clerk's office at (781) 293-7211 or visit the Absentee Voting page on the Secretary of State's website.
