Water Withdrawal Permit Application

The Town of Pembroke, 100 Center Street, Pembroke, MA 02639 has applied to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) - Water Management Act Program for an amendment to its existing permit to add an additional source, Swanberg Wellfield, to the Town’s Drinking Water Supply.

The Swanberg Wellfield is located off Pleasant Street in Pembroke MA, in the South Coastal Basin. The Swanberg Wellfield has been approved by MassDEP for 0.37 million gallons per day. No increase in overall withdrawal is requested. The average annual withdrawal of water would remain at the level that is currently permitted by MassDEP, 0.71 million gallons per day. The water withdrawal provides potable water for the Town of Pembroke.

A copy of this Water Withdrawal Permit Application is available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office of the Pembroke Town Hall, 100 Center Street., Pembroke, MA 02639 during Town Hall business hours: Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Written comments on the granting of a MassDEP permit for this withdrawal are required to be filed within thirty (30) days of publication of this Public Notice.
