Spring Hydrant Flushing Begins on April 22, 2024

Flushing will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 7 p.m. to Midnight (M thru Thu), starting on April 22,2024, until completed; (approximately 5 to 6 weeks).   

During flushing some residents may experience discolored water, low water pressure or no water for a short period of time. Residents are advised to check for discoloration before doing laundry and to “avoid” doing laundry during the flushing hours. 

Residents who experience water discoloration should clear their water line by running the outside faucet nearest to the water meter and running the water “slowly” for about 20 to 30 minutes.  If the water is still not clear, please wait an hour and repeat the flushing procedure again until your water is clear. 

The Water Division will make every effort to keep inconvenience to a minimum.  The Water Division is not responsible for any damage incurred in connection with the flushing program, which is a necessary and normal maintenance function of the water supply system and required by the State Department of Environmental Protection.   

If you have any questions, you can call the water department at 781-709-1425 between 8am and 6:30pm on Mondays, 8am and 4:30pm on Tuesday through Thursday, and 8am 12pm on Fridays.
