Building & Inspectional Services

The Building Department can assist you with the following services in person or online:

• Building Permits - all permit applications must include supporting documents to be processed, i.e. signed contract, insurance information, plot plans, structural plans, HERS ratings, specs, framing and footing plans depending on the proposed project. If you are unsure of what is required, please contact the office. There is a 2-week turn around time for most permits (with full submittal)
• Electrical Permits - Gas Permits - Plumbing Permits - Sheet Metal Permits
• Demolition Permits (use building application and demo authorization form)
• Schedule an inspection by calling 781-293-3864 - INSPECTIONS ARE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY 
• Paying for Permit: Credit Card only for online payment - Cash or Check in the office
• To register for the online permitting portal, please send a copy of your valid contractor license, liability certificate, and workers comp certificate for the Town of Pembroke to mjoyce@townofpembrokemass.org
• Permits cannot be printed outside of the office - hard copies must be picked up in the Building Department, Town Hall, room 3.

Mission Statement:

It is our mission to provide the town of Pembroke with accurate and efficient guidelines to ensure the safety of all construction and repair projects to buildings and property located within the town. The Building Inspector enforces the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Building Code and the Pembroke By-Laws.The Building department is also responsible for the uses and occupancy of all buildings, structures and land within the town of Pembroke.
