Council on Aging
The Pembroke Council on Aging was established by the Town Meeting vote of Pembroke on May 6, 1975 pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 40, section 8B.
The purpose of the Council is to identify the needs of the elders of our community; to educate citizens and enlist the support of all to meet the needs of elders and to recognize such assistance; to design, advocate for, and/or implement services to fill these needs, or to coordinate existing services; to cooperate with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, and the area agency on aging, and to be cognizant of state and federal legislation and programs regarding elders.
The Board works with the Director in partnership for the best interests of the town's senior citizens. Board members act at all times in a manner that is supportive to the Council and the Senior Center.
