A Message from the Clerk’s Office:
Every 10 years, the federal and state government each conduct a census, in an effort to compile accurate data to properly appropriate federal and state funding. It is confidential, and response is required by law (Title 13, Section 221 on the United States Code). Any mailings you receive from the U.S. Census Bureau are legitimate, and must be responded to. Below is a link to Secretary Galvin’s website, further explaining the importance of both the state and the federal census.
Previously in the year, your annual street listing census form was distributed by the Clerk’s Office to all households in Pembroke. This census that residents receive annually from the town is used to maintain voter rolls and maintain the street listings books.
