Pembroke Cultural Council Announces 2018 Grant Round is Open

YEAR 2018 GRANT CYCLE OPENS

APPLICATIONS:  The application process has moved online. Applicants may access the online application beginning September 1 at www.mass-culture.org/. This is also where you will find any funding priorities or additional requirements beyond the state guidelines.

DEADLINE:  Applications must be submitted or postmarked by OCT 16, 2017.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The Massachusetts Cultural Council provides funding to the Local Cultural Councils to support public programs that promote access, education, diversity and excellence in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. Local councils have the right and responsibility to award grants that address cultural needs specific to their community.

CRITERIA:  The Pembroke Cultural Council uses the following criteria when awarding grants: community benefit, community involvement, quality of project, financial need of the sponsoring body, accomplishments of the sponsoring body and the dedication of the sponsoring body.

PEMBROKE’S ALLOCATION:  $5400.00

CULTURAL COUNCIL MEMBERS:  Lydia Hale, Kyle Harney, Eugenie King, Linda McCollum and Carol Watches.

2017 GRANT RECIPIENTS: Pembroke Tree Lighting Festival, Friends of Pembroke Public Library for Museum Passes, the Pembroke Arts Festival, Stephen Lewis poster display at the Pembroke Public Library, the Marble Collection, Roger Tincknell performance for the COA, Lydia Drake Library, the Pembroke High School Parents Association and the Pembroke Public Library summer reading program.
