Abatement Forms

 

To qualify for a senior abatement, applicant must demonstrate they are over 70 years of age with only a spouse living in the residence with them. The seniors income limits cannot exceed $32,000 for one person or $36,000 for the applicant with a spouse.

 

To qualify for a summer resident abatement, the applicant must provide documentation of the Water Shut Off on a water bill for the most recent fiscal year. If a proper water shut off is not applicable, a copy of the most recent water bill or electricity bill showing low usage for at least 6 months to qualify. 

 

To qualify for a vacant property abatement, the applicant must be able to show low/no usage on a utility bill (ie: electricity bill or water shut off notice). The abatement will be prorated for the number of months the property is vacant during the fiscal year billing cycle. Before approval all Town issued toters will need to be returned to the town this can be scheduled with the Collector's Office 781-293-2671.

 

To qualify for other means of disposal abatement, the applicant must provide documentation of private disposal. Residents who receive private disposal service will be required to return all Town issued toters prior to abatement being processed. ***Please note abatements will be credited to the second semi-annual bill. Payment of the first semi-annual bill in full, including any applicable late fees, is required before any abatement is issued.
