What can I dispose of on Hazardous Waste Day?

The following materials have been accepted at previous events: (Any changes in items accepted will be posted online or on the Cable Community Bulletin Board when the next event is scheduled.) 

Drain cleaners, metal polishers, photo chemicals, photo chemicals, dry cleaning fluids, rust preventatives, wood strippers, paint thinners, sealants, engine and radiator flushes, old chemistry sets, herbicides, brake fluid, pool chemicals, creosote, mothballs, mercury, ammonia, oven cleaner, art & craft supplies, floor cleaners, radiator cleaners, wood preservative, oil based paint, solvents, weed killers, anti­freeze, motor oil, gasoline, kerosene, engine degreasers, transmission fluid, pesticides, insect sprays, rodent killers, muriatic acid, nicd batteries, bleaches, cesspool cleaner. 

ITEMS WHICH ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE:

Latex paint, Radioactive wastes (including smoke detectors), explosives, gun powder, ammunition, flares, any “unstable” wastes, cylinders of unknown gases, regulated drug substances, Biological wastes, medical waste, Infectious wastes, needles, syringes, tires, fluorescent light bulbs, compressed gas cylinders, car batteries, propane or liquid fire extinguishers.

YOU MUST be a town resident, have a current recycling sticker, this is for residential hazardous waste only. You cannot dispose of business or commercial hazardous waste.
