PEMBROKE ENERGY COMMITTEE MINUTES

June 9, 2009

Present: Alan Peterson, Nick Zechello, chair, Brian Baragwanath, Scott MacInnes, Steve Saia, Richard Jones, Don Anderson, Anne Marie Stanton.

Conservation -

· DOER Programs - Green Communities Act (GCA) – “As of Right Allowing Use of Wind Energy Facilities” Bylaw; purpose is to allow wind turbines to be built in any of the town’s zoning districts. Discussed.

· Energy Audit Program –Meeting Wednesday, June 10, 9 a.m. at Town Hall.

· Federal Stimulus – DOER to apply and receive funds from DOE to distribute to communities with fewer than 35,000 residents. These grants could assist with: the energy audit (projects must be shovel-ready); funding the energy reports (should be formatted and ready in 6 -8 months); building officials training; and a technical assistance grant program (up to 10K grants for consultant on projects)

· Energy Performance Contracting – Reviewed RFQ; committee agreed to release draft RFQ for internal review.

Meeting schedule for Summer – discussed and will be posted. As schedules change, they may be cancelled, but the July and August dates will be published on the Town website.
