PRESS RELEASE
August 16, 2008
Recent lab results in all samples taken yesterday were absent of total coliform which also means no E.coli.
However, THE BOIL ORDER IS STILL IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The results of all samples taken today, Saturday, August 16, 2008, will be known on Monday.
Hydrant flushing, sampling, and a temporary chlorination station on Edgewater Drive will continue throughout the weekend.
The next press release will be Monday, August 18, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Throughout this entire event, DPW Commissioners and the Selectmen’s Office have been involved and in contact with Senate President Murray and Representative Webster, who have responded with full support.
There has been an ongoing two-part effort. The Water Department continues to spend countless hours working on the water situation which as we can all see is working, while the Emergency Management Team has worked to coordinate efforts to aid the public as needed.
