PRESS RELEASE
August 18, 2008
Recent lab results in all 31 samples taken Saturday were absent of total coliform which also means no E.coli.
However, THE BOIL ORDER IS STILL IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The results of all samples taken Sunday, August 17 and today, Monday, August 18, 2008, will be known on Tuesday.
Hydrant flushing, sampling, and a temporary chlorination station on Edgewater Drive and two other locations will continue.
The next press release will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.
We have no confirmed illness related to the E.coli.
It’s through the diligence and expertise of the Water Dept. that we are moving in the right direction with this issue.
The Emergency Management Team continues to supply water at the High School from
8 a.m. – 8 p.m. We thank George Emanuel and Bill Boulter for the 12 + hours daily distributing water at the High School.
Additionally, if the restaurants in Pembroke follow DEP guidelines, they are safe to eat in.
