April 2015 Edition
Hi Everyone, A lot has been happening since the last newsletter. I met with Eagle Scout Nick Morrison on April 20th he showed me two sets of blue prints for the handicapped ramp and walk way he and the rest of the scout troop will be building next to the basket ball and tennis courts. The ramp will be made of concrete and the walk way will be made of sandstone. Once the ramp is complete the recreation department will do some landscaping around the ramp to finish the project.
I met with Police Chief Rick Wall to discuss the front door of the police station being replaced. The new door will be the same size as the current door and will be equipped with an automatic door opener. Chief Wall will apply for a community preservation grant that will off set the cost of the door.
2015 is a milestone year for the commission it is the 25th anniversary since the Commission On Disabilities was started. I attended the May 18th Selectmen's meeting I spoke about the services and projects the commission is involved with, transportation, medical equipment recycle program two weeks later I had an interview with Mark Burrage from the Pembroke Express/ Mariner I told him the history behind the Commission On Disabilities and what services it provides to the disabled residents in town and why the Commission On Disabilities is a important town department to have.
Jill Brazio resigned from the commission due to personal reasons. I recently mailed a copy of the new policies and procedures hand book to the remaining members on the commission.
Until the next newsletter, Tom.
