BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
October 27, 2008
The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. Lisa Cullity and Scott MacInnes were present. Board reviewed correspondence, approved minutes, signed payroll, accounts payable voucher and septic permits.
Discussion:
Leaf and manure disposal must be contained to prevent runoff. Cannot be left in the open as before.
Jeff Bradley, 247 Plymouth Street-variance for washing machine pit into septic system. The flow is at the bare minimum (110 / gpd) for a 3-bedroom house. Adding laundry pit to system will cause the system to fail. Owner wishes to sell house so options were given: (1) fix the system to Title V compliance or (2) put money into an escrow account for the new buyer to make the necessary repairs. Cullity also suggested a new Title V inspection where the inspector must determine the leaching field works (to accommodate laundry) and pits are working to full capacity (150 / gpd). The Board needs to know the whole system will accommodate the usage: (1) condition of field and trenches, (2) number of gallons per day it can handle, and (3) needs to redo Title V inspection report.
MacInnes moved to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. Cullity seconded. All in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa Cullity
