BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
January 7, 2008
The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. with members Lisa Cullity, Wilson Whittaker and Scott MacInnes present. Board reviewed correspondence, approved minutes and signed vouchers.
Discussion: Some residents of Champion Way came into the meeting for an unscheduled discussion about the likely failure of 40B systems installed in their area and how to apply for the Town’s Betterment Program. Cullity instructed health agent to look into re-enacting the program with Old Colony Planning Council to take over the administration of the program.
Discussion: Design review engineer requests that the benchmark of plans to be set at sea level. The Board left that decision to the health agent.
Mary Willis, COA Director – spoke on behalf of a senior resident to receive trash abatement. A child of the resident is listed as living in the home but resident said the child does not live there any longer. Resident was advised by the Board to update the office as to whether the child was living with her or not. MacInnes moved to approve abatement. Whittaker seconded. All in favor.
Kathleen Keene – A Tantalizing Experience. Has not had tanning establishment license since 2005. She advised the Board that she thought she paid for the tanning establishment license and her partner was responsible for the massage establishment license when, in reality, Keene paid for the massage license and not the tanning license. Cullity instructed Keene to take care of the current tanning license for calendar year 2008.
Tjona Storm-Prophet – Spray Beach Tanning. Could not be issued tanning establishment license until A Tantalizing Experience was licensed as a tanning establishment as she runs her business from there. As the other license application was submitted, Prophet’s application was accepted as well.
Eric Mueller – Southeast Septic. Conducted septic repairs without picking up the signed permit. Health agent instructed not to inspect any repairs or installations unless the permit has been picked up by the installer.
Carol Marquis – 75 Furnace Lane. Requested a reversal of fy’07 MUF tax lien charges as she never received bill as a new owner of the property. The Board never received notification of new owner. MacInnes moved to reverse the lien fee. Whittaker seconded. Resident is required to pay fy’07 bill in full except for late fees.
Board informed of meeting dates to coordinate with the Board of Selectmen’s meetings as follows: January 22, February 4 and February 19, 2008.
MacInnes moved to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. Whittaker seconded. All in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa Cullity
