BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
February 20, 2008
The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. with members Lisa Cullity, Wilson Whittaker and Scott MacInnes present. Board reviewed correspondence, approved minutes, signed septic permits and signed vouchers.
Discussions:

Alexan Pembroke Woods letter stating all is in compliance regarding heater closets.·
Massage therapist licenses: Due to State taking over the licensing, MacInnes moved to refund all the monies collected thus far from massage license therapists; Whittaker seconded. All in favor.·
Classified ad for new Landfill Manager. Cullity wanted to check with Wage & Personnel to be sure Board can create a new position and hire accordingly.·
Selectmen’s meeting: requested a Board member to meet with Selectmen at their March 3, 2008 meeting at 7:30 to discuss Board of Health’s Town Meeting articles. Cullity will attend.31 Keen’s Way – Byron Yordanopoulos. Requested a waiver of a Title V regulation stating that the septic must be pumped every year for 3 years for the 1-year extension to take effect. He stated that he was unaware of the regulation and missed the 1st pumping within the 1st year after a new septic was installed. Whittaker moved to allow waiver; MacInnes seconded. All in favor.
Speigel Metals – Tony Pusateri. Wants to continue to pick up scrap metal at the Recycling Center via a proposal and contract. The Board informed him that it was not in the Center’s best interest at this time to contract with anyone at this time due to DEP parameters. Health Agent said Speigel can collect scrap metal until April 1, 2008 at which time the Board plans to be seeking proposals for contracting with vendors.
Personal Best – Marie Goldman, owner. Came before the Board to request refunds for her massage therapists. Cullity informed her that the Board voted to refund the monies.
10 Champion Way – variances. Webby Engineering (not present) requested the following variances: (1) allow SAS 7 feet from street property line, (2) allow SAS 10 feet from foundation, (3) allow SAS maximum 72 inches below finish grade, and (4) allow filling within 5 feet of street line. MacInnes moved to allow variances as presented on septic plan; Whittaker seconded. All in favor.
MacInnes moved to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. Whittaker seconded. All in favor.
